Alchemy, Part 4
(Continuing from Part 3. Begun in Part 1.)

There are shapes to balance and imbalance. A single element is a mote -- it is the shape that does not exist, without breadth or depth or height. No thing can exist alone. Those who focus themselves on a single element, rejecting its complementary element, symbolize this with a circle. It is the set of all things that are equidistant from their focus, and thus represents three out of the four elements. The Cult of Vega is marked by a short diagonal bar. From these things, the properly attuned mind will notice a pattern, a relationship between the number of elements considered and the dimensionality which they together evoke. The shape of natural balance is thus a tetrahedron, whose four corners stand in for these four natural essences of life.
