There are those whose philosophies lead them to focus their lives on one element, to the complete exclusion of its complement. Likewise, there are some -- like the Cult of Vega -- who fully embrace one pair of elements, shunning the pair opposing. On the surface, this would seem animalistic and antithetical to spiritual life: the key to the human spirit is balance, as it is to all things. But these philosophies reject only the outward form of those elements and the methods by which they are obtained, not their essential natures. Today, we know something that the ancients did not: the essence of one element can exist within the embodiment of another
. Thus, the acolytes of Vega can find the essence of blood borne inside that which has the apparent semblance of leaf, and so balance is thereby maintained.
